#ForteFemales At Home - Madeleine Shaw

There's no better way to start our second #ForteFemales At Home Series than with the extraordinary Nutritional Therapist, Author, Chef and Health Guru Madeleine Shaw. Madeleine has her own website where you can find a variety of recipes designed to promote the hottest, happiest and healthiest you. It’s about keeping things simple and delicious so you don’t feel bored or deprived.

What will you be doing differently in this lockdown?

I will embrace it more. Lots of nights being cosy and cooking at home. Instead of focusing on what we can’t do focus on what we can. I have been for some really nice walks with friends and enjoyed slow weekends.

Which place would you travel to now, if you could?

Sydney, especially this time of year having a late brunch a swim in the ocean and a BBQ, my kind of heaven.

What's the first restaurant you're going to go to after the lockdown?

Hoppers in Soho, it’s so delicious and I love the atmosphere there.

What is your favourite spa or wellness space?

I love triyoga and for me it's a work-in as well as a workout.

What is the first treatment you're going to do after lockdown?

Reflexology is my favourite way to rebalance and switch off.

What are you doing/using to stay physically active and mentally well at the moment?

I have a morning routine where I meditate, do my affirmations and visualise my day and future goals. I also think of 10 things I am grateful for each day and love to wind down in the evening with a book. Sleep is something I take seriously so I make sure I switch off tech.

What helps you get to sleep if you are wired but tired?

Deep breaths. Making sure I have an hour of no tech before bed, journaling anything on my mind and also talking to my boyfriend.

What is your skincare regime during the lockdown (morning and evening)?

In the morning I cleanse, apply some serum and then SPF. In the evening I double cleanse with a hot cloth, add serum and do a facial massage then pop on some Vitamin A and maybe a face oil.

Do you have one evening or more a week where you spend time masking/pampering? What do you do?

I love to pop on a mask when I meditate or sometimes while I’m doing the washing, I don’t tend to have a pamper day but add it into moments of the day.

What is the best beauty/skin advice you've ever been given?

Drink lots of water.
