A self-confessed makeup junkie, Victoria Ceridono is a Brazilian journalist, beauty blogger and best-selling author, based in London since 2013. She launched the Dia de Beauté blog in 2007 while attending university and interning at a Brazilian fashion website. At the time she was also a contributing beauty writer for Vogue Brazil, where she has now been beauty editor since 2010. In September 2015, Victoria launched her first book, “Dia de Beauté: A Makeup Guide for Real Life”, which was a best-seller in Brazil and has also been published in Portugal.

Where are you dreaming of travelling to?

Capri! It's my favourite place in the world and I try to go every summer, even if it’s just for a few days. I went for the first time on my honeymoon and this July we will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, so it would be a very special trip.

What was the first restaurant you went to post lockdown 3.0?

There are so many! Going out for dinner is one of my favourite things to do. I especially missed my fave Italians - La Famiglia, Lucio and Cecconi's. I also missed the Omakase Sushi menu at Yashin.

What is your favourite spa or wellness space?

Les Sources de Caudalie is a lovely place. I do enjoy the mix of massages and treatments with good wine.

What was the first beauty treatment you had post lockdown 3.0?

I went for a haircut and tint to cover my out-of-control grey hairs.

What is your skincare regime (morning and evening)?

Morning: I splash my face with water then use a toner, moisturiser and SPF.

Evening: I double cleanse and use serums and moisturisers. I'm constantly trying new products, so this is a fun moment of my day. I also use an eye cream and a baby pomade on my lips. I can never sleep without this, as my lips are so dry, and it really makes a huge difference.

Do you have one evening or more a week where you spend time masking/pampering? What do you do?

Normally, Saturday or Sunday when I tend to have more time. I love doing the pampering day, which is actually the origin of my blog's name as Dia de Beauté means "beauty day". I normally boost the skincare bit with a mask, LED light and face massage using a gua sha. I also put some effort into body care as well, with dry brushing or scrubbing and lots of body moisturiser. I also always use a nice shower gel or oil every time I shower to elevate this everyday moment and make it a bit more special.

Do you ever look for a certain ingredient in your skincare?

I think it's super important to know your skin and also understand a bit about ingredients, so you can always make the best choice for whatever your skin needs. Our skin is not always the same and a lot of external and internal factors influence its behaviour. Having said that, a constant ingredient in my skincare routine is hyaluronic acid. I just love how moisturising and light it is.

Any advice for aspiring bloggers/influencers?

Find your voice, let your personality show, don't compare yourself too much with others, and don't try to be someone you're not just to get followers. If you're doing this for the long run, it's much more rewarding to build your audience based on who you really are.

Who are your favourite skincare/beauty bloggers to follow?

I could name so many but will stick to 2 perennial favourites: Alex Steinherr and Lisa Eldridge.

What's your favourite:

Book:

I could be serious, but I will be honest: Harry Potter. It really marked my growing up years and has a special place in my heart.

Documentary:

I love fashion documentaries because it's fascinating to watch the behind the scenes. Valentino: The Last Emperor is one of my favourites.

Skincare Product:

An impossible question, but I'd say sunscreen because it makes the most difference in the long run.

Podcast:

I'm not really into podcasts, as I could never really fit them into my routine!! I have the longest list of suggestions though. Maybe I'll get there!
