In winter, skin is more dehydrated, prone to irritation, and also tired and dull. Here, brand founder Irene Forte highlights her morning skincare regime and tips for the colder months.
STEP 1: ALMOND CLEANSING MILK
“The cleansing step is incredibly important. I use our Almond Cleansing Milk, which contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and Aloe Leaf Juice to help hydrate, calm and soothe the skin. The Wild Rose Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Shea soften and nourish this skin.”
TIP: “Wash your skin with lukewarm water; not hot water. Using hot water in the shower or to wash your face might feel nicer, but it naturally strips the skin of the necessary oil barrier, which means skin will dry out faster.”
STEP 2: LEMON TONER
“I use the Lemon Toner in the evening, which contains a triple-blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acids, including Tartaric, Malic and Citrus, that gently purify and brighten the skin. I prefer to use the more acid-based products at night to help fight tired and dull-looking skin in the winter.”
STEP 3: TRIPLE LEVEL HYALURONIC SERUM
“I opt for the Triple Level Hyaluronic Serum instead for a real hydration boost.”
STEP 4: OLIVE EYE CREAM
“I use the Olive Eye Cream next, a regenerating cream that contains a hydro-regulating complex including Pro-Vitamin B5, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide B3 and Aloe Leaf Juice to replenish and soothe the delicate eye area. Hydration is vital for the under-eye area at this time of year, helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles.”
STEP 5: HIBISCUS NIGHT CREAM
“I seal it all with our top-selling Hibiscus Night Cream. This cream contains important ingredients to protect the skin against water loss. The stronger our moisture barrier, the more hydration from our skincare and the water of our skin will stay in our skin. Our skin’s moisture barrier includes Ceramides and these reduce as we age, so the fact that this product has four different Ceramides is great. It also contains anti-wrinkle Myoxinol™, and a novel peptide extract from Green Pea to boost Collagen and Elastin production, as well as reduce fine lines and wrinkles.”
STEP 6: ROSE FACE OIL
“If my skin needs an extra boost, I will apply the Rose Face Oil after the Hibiscus Night Cream. The oil contains 30% Vitamin E, which moisturises and strengthens the skin’s protective barrier to prevent moisture loss. The skin’s barrier is also made up of Fatty Acids, and we have omega-rich oils in this product that are incredibly important to protect and prevent moisture loss. I like to do an at-home facial massage with the Rose Face Oil, using pressure points and my knuckles to work into the muscles; I sometimes incorporate a gua sha tool.”
